The True Story of a Mouse Who Never Asked for It
Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria, a nobleman who became interested in the traditional tales of Mallorca at the end of the 19th century, was the first to write a version of the arrogant rat, which is not arrogant at all.
Now, Ana C. Herreros has written this version in which the rat is neither presumptuous nor does she buy a bow but instead buys a cabbage to make herself a little house. This rat will teach us how important it is to choose well who accompanies us on our journey because if you choose a predator, you will most likely end up being eaten.
We have published this book thanks to the publication aid of the Institut d`Estudis Balearics.
Third prize 2021 for the best book published in 2020 in the category of children's and young adults' books awarded by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Spain, "for the game of illustration and text on alternative pages and highlighting its quality in terms of images and its ability to transmit".

She was born in León and her grandmother kept quiet stories. So she soon learned to listen to the silence and to love those who have no voice, those who don't tell tales.
So much so that, years later and already an emigrant in Madrid, she began to write a doctoral thesis on the literature of those who neither write nor read. And so, researching the oral tradition, in 1992 she came across oral narration. She started telling stories, and for more than twenty years, she has not been silent. Then her voice filled with ink and she started writing. Her work has been translated into Catalan, French and Mexican. She has made an autistic man speak, a princess sit down to listen to her lecture and 16 6-month-old babies preferred listening to her stories to taking a bottle. Oh, if her grandmother raised her head...

Violeta Lópiz
Born in Ibiza in 1980, she learned her trade as an illustrator when her hands went to trade school, and her head served as an intern at the newspaper El Mundo. The workshops with Javier Zabala, Linda Wolfsgruber and Józef Wilko have also contributed to her convictions, as well as other peers in illustration who have offered her a hand. Her working life came fast at her, and her work has been circulated through newspapers, magazines, self-published books and textbooks, always in parallel to the personal projects that she has in mind. Violeta fills her illustrations with everything she experiences, so it will not be uncommon to find traces of music, tap dancing and travel in her work. Something that defines her is that she turns each assignment into a new challenge, in which she explores both the possibilities of the project and her own.
