February is ending

February, the month with which the year traditionally ended is coming to an end, the last month of winter, the time of purification that allowed us to enter, renewed, into spring.

We would like to close this month and this season that is coming to an end, with the poem that closes our book: Estación Invierno (Winter Season):





En los parques los árboles, en hilera,

querrían romper su quietud y encoger

sus ramas nudosas para abrazarse

el tronco y cubrir su desnudez.

Los abuelos, aves de paseo,

levantaron el vuelo de los bancos,

dejando desierta la alameda.

Emigraron a las estaciones cubiertas y allí ,

encorvados y agarrados a los bastones,

ven cómo pasa el tiempo y los viajeros,

con cuánta prisa pasa todo, sin detenerse,

también el invierno.
