This Christmas, give a gift of solidarity

We are getting closer and closer to the long-awaited Christmas. With it comes family gatherings, laughter, moments together, memories of those who are no longer with us and the first celebrations with those who have just arrived. With it comes also the children's laughter, the magic and innocence, and also the presents. But it is not all happiness. Many children will not be able to enjoy Christmas in the same way as others because of the precarious conditions they face. Homeless parents will sadly see how their children will not be able to have the gifts that children so fervently desire. Entire families who live in impoverished places and who cannot access the same resources as others.

That is why we want to show you the option of solidary gifts. We often think that the best gift will be the latest model of an electronic device, the latest toy that has come on the market and is advertised everywhere, or the latest novel by a very prestigious writer. But wouldn't it be nicer, more magical, to give something that helps other families, other communities? That, in our opinion, is the main message of Christmas: happiness, solidarity, and making others happy.

Many organisations offer gifts that, when you buy them, you help certain causes with a percentage. In this publishing house, we also have such a project. This year at Libros de las Malas Compañías (Bad Companies Books) we are offering special gifts, solidary Christmas hampers.

These are made up of a range of varied products, books and articles that come directly from Africa and are associated with different projects. In these baskets, you will find illustrated albums whose protagonists are groups that are invisible or at risk of exclusion; books from the Black Series containing stories from the oral tradition of African communities, which have been collected and illustrated directly by the inhabitants of these communities and which, in addition, finance collaborative projects in these areas; you will also find handmade textile products made by the different African peoples and communities with which we collaborate.

But these are not closed baskets. In Libros de las Malas Compañías we want your hampers to be as much yours as possible, so we need you to contact us through our email info@librosdelasmalascompanias.com explaining which products have caught your attention and the quantity you will need.

We hope that this Christmas will be great for you and your families and that, through these projects, we can all help those who need it most. Finally, and although it is still a little early, we wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS.
