Madrid has seen the birth, growth, and arrival from other places of many women who began their lives in its streets. Women who fought to make their lives what they wanted, despite the times in which they lived.
In Maravillosas (Wonderful women), a book written by Ana Rossetti and illustrated by Jesús Gabán, you can find women who lived in the neighbourhood of Maravillas, now Malasaña, and who were the protagonists of the story. Some of them were born in Madrid and others were adopted by Madrid.
With this video, we wanted to celebrate the 2nd of May, the festivities of the Maravillas neighbourhood, but we also want to pay tribute today, San Isidro, to all the Madrileñas, and to the Madrileños as well.
Happy day and as Nacho Padilla says...
